FAQ’s
What are the classes like?
The classes are designed to be educational, hands-on and fun. Because they are located in the Museum, children will be able to see exhibits that go along with the subject of their classes. Based on availability, they might also take a behind-the-scenes tour of a scientific laboratory, or experience a live animal presentation, etc.
Do I register my child based on the grade level they are currently in?
Register your children according to the grade level they will be entering in the fall. The exception are the preschool classes, which are designed for children ages 3 and 4.
If I register my children for a full day, do I need to pick them up for lunch?
No, the staff at the Museum will supervise your children the entire day, including lunchtime. Children need only to bring lunch, as they will not be able to purchase lunch on-site.
Where do I park?
If you are dropping off your child you may park for up to 15 minutes in the museum's West lot off Menlo Ave while you sign your child in at the registration area. If you would like to stay longer, you can park in the Classic Parking lot across the street from the Museum, on Menlo Ave. Parking is $8, (prices may go up if there is a special event in the Park.) Depending on availability there is also metered parking on Exposition Blvd.
Pre-school parking: Students enrolled in the preschool classes will be able to purchase a special pass of $10 to park in the Museum’s parking lot, since parents are required to take the class also. The parking fee is included in the registration fee, and is optional.
Where do I drop off my children on the first day of class?
Check in will be located at the North Entrance to the Museum, behind the Dueling Dinosaur statues on the sidewalk, next to the parking lot. The confirmation letter we will send you upon registration will have a map and more details.
Is there an extra fee for t-shirts?
No, students will receive a t-shirt per weekly class, which is included in the class fee. If your children are enrolled in two classes in a week, they will receive two t-shirts.
Do I need to purchase a full week of extended care if I only need one day?
Single days are available this year. You can purchase extended care one day at a time, for $20.
If I need to cancel my child's class, what is your cancellation policy?
Credit vouchers will be given to those who cancel at least one week prior to the program start date, less a 15% handling fee. No vouchers will be given after this period. We will issue a full refund for classes cancelled by the Museum. Please allow 4-6 weeks for processing.
